HIFU – THE MUST HAVE TREATMENT FOR JOWLS!

Our regular clients here at Botanique Skin & Spa know that we spend a lot of time researching new treatments before bringing them on board, and for good reason! There’s no point in investing in expensive equipment only to find it doesn’t deliver results. That’s why we are so pleased to be able to now offer a serious solution for the natural looking improvement of sagging, tired skin, fine lines and drooping on both the face and body.
High Intensity Focused Ultrasound  (HIFU) is a non-invasive approach to skin tightening and rejuvenation that is currently in high demand around the world, and is achieved without surgery, bleeding or scarring. HIFU technology is taking over from laser, radio frequency, IPL, needling and other ‘face lift’ skin rejuvenation procedures. Why? Because it is the next generation in advanced facial rejuvenation offering deeper penetration, visible longer lasting results, and most importantly, no damage to the skin surface.
HIFU works with ultrasound which is an oscillating sound pressure wave, created by a very rapid vibration, with a frequency greater than the upper limit of the human hearing range. Ultrasound is used in many different fields including surgery and medical applications, and has now been honed to target skin lifting. When focused, the high intensity vibrational energy of the Ultrasonic wave is turned to thermal energy.
The HIFU beams through the surface of the skin to deliver precise and fractional ultrasound energy to the deeper dermis, subcutaneous tissue and muscle layers.  This deeper layer is responsible for muscular activity in the face, and whilst the energy stimulates both muscle firming, new collagen is also produced with no disruption to the outer skin surface (no scarring).
HIFU can improve anywhere that your face or body are showing the signs of ageing including eyebrows, frown lines, jowls, smile lines, nasolabial folds, neck, arms, flanks, things, tummy, bottom and décolletage.
And, better still, the results continue to improve over the next 6 months!
Depending on the treatment, we will target the SMAS (superficial muscular aponeurotic system) at the same depth as a surgical face-lift. This deeper layer is responsible for muscular activity in the face, and is where tightening and regeneration take place to create lasting visible lifting. We also target the connective tissue stimulating new collagen and elastin synthesis, improving skin texture, reducing wrinkles and firming.
The processes of regeneration take place progressively and gradually, from the deeper tissue towards the skin surface, working naturally to both uplift and rejuvenate the skin.
The result is lasting significant visible skin firming and tightening after just one treatment, with clients excited to look 5 to 10 years younger.
What results can I expect to see?
The process of skin regeneration and rejuvenation takes time as the new extracellular collagen matrix is formed, strengthened and re-modelled. Best visible results are usually seen at 8 to 12 weeks, however this effect will continue and can be seen firming and lifting the skin for up to 6 months after the treatment.
On this basis a repeat HIFU Face Uplift treatment is recommended at approximately every 3 to 6 months depending on the age of the client and the condition of the skin.
HIFU results are permanent and will continue improving gradually for up to six months following the treatment. You will not be frozen in time. After six months, as with any age defying treatment, your skin will naturally continue to age but HIFU can give you fresher, younger looking skin for approximately 12 to 24 months after your treatment.  (Radio Frequency) RF, red light LED and other treatments are also very effective at protecting and maintaining your HIFU results. These can be done as soon as few weeks after the HIFU treatment.
